Also appeared in Bleeker 1864:21, Pl. 4 (fig. 2) [ref. 13925]. •Synonym of Danio malabaricus (Jerdon 1849) -- (Menon 1999:43 [ref. 24904]). •Synonym of Devario malabaricus (Jerdon 1849) -- (Fang 2001:16 [ref. 25285]). •Valid as Devario micronema (Bleeker 1863) -- (Kullander 2017:408 [ref. 35120], Batuwita et al. 2017:165 [ref. 35544], Kullander et al. 2017:29 [ref. 35685], Sudasinghe & Pethiyagoda 2019:423 [ref. 36449] with uncertainty, Sudasinghe et al. 2020:[12] [ref. 37530]). Current status: Valid as Devario micronema (Bleeker 1863). Danionidae: Danioninae. Distribution: Kelani, Kalu, Bentara and Gin River basins, Sri Lanka. Habitat: freshwater.
