Micronema typus Bleeker 1858 is an unneeded substitute. Derivation of name uncertain, most authors use the incorrect name micronema, the noun should remain micronemus. Current status: Valid as Phalacronotus micronemus (Bleeker 1846). Siluridae. Distribution: Mekong and Chao Phraya River basins and Sundaland, southeastern Asia. Habitat: freshwater.
