Böhlke 1984:84 [ref. 13621] lists specimens doubtfully referred to P. milesii as locality in catalog is "Lansing, Michigan" and not Grosse Isle as published [they would be syntypes, not holotype and paratypes]. •Synonym of Pimephales promelas Rafinesque 1820 -- (Gilbert 1998:114 [ref. 23395], Scott & Crossman 1998:483 [ref. 24570]).
