Appeared first as above, then in Sykes 1839:59 [ref. 4306]; more complete treatment in Sykes 1841:366 [ref. 18868]. C. moreh is a misspelling. •Valid as Nemacheilus mooreh (Sykes 1839) -- (Menon 1987:145 [ref. 14149] as Noemacheilus moreh, Talwar & Jhingran 1991:490 [ref. 20764] as Neomacheilus moreh, Menon 1999:181 [ref. 24904] as Noemacheilus moreh, Yadav 2000:41 [ref. 25661] as moreh, Yadav 2003:17 [ref. 27711] as moreh). •Questionably a synonym of Acanthocobitis botia (Hamilton 1822) -- (Kottelat 1990:28 [ref. 14137]). •Valid as Acanthocobitis mooreh (Sykes 1839) -- (Kottelat 2012:50 [ref. 31992], Kottelat 2012:76 [ref. 32367]). •Valid as Acanthocobitis mooreh (Sykes 1829) but a valid subgenus Paracanthocobitis -- (Grant 2008:16 [ref. 33826]). •Valid as Paracanthocobitis mooreh (Sykes 1839) -- (Singer & Page 2015:394 [ref. 33823], Bleher 2018:194 [ref. 36647]). Current status: Valid as Paracanthocobitis mooreh (Sykes 1839). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Krishna River basin, Peninsular India. Habitat: freshwater.
