Combined with a genus of feminine gender, the correct adjective is bahiana. •Valid as Corymbophanes bahianus Gosline 1947 -- (Isbrücker 1980:14 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:430 [ref. 12860]). •Valid as Hemipsilichthys bahianus (Gosline 1947) -- (Armbruster et al. 2000:997 [ref. 25018], Isbrücker 2001:26, 28 [ref. 25653], Pereira & Reis 2002:113 [ref. 26071], Pereira et al. 2003:2 [ref. 27068], Isbrücker 2002:17 [ref. 27178], Weber in Reis et al. 2003:353 [ref. 27061]). •Valid as Pareiorhaphis bahiana (Gosline 1947) (often seen as bahianus) -- (Pereira 2005:272 [ref. 28273], Ferraris 2007:279 [ref. 29155], Pereira et al. 2012:539 [ref. 32218], Pereiro & Zanata 2014:36 [ref. 33226], Pereira & Reis 2017:75 [ref. 35307], Silva et al. 2020:11 [ref. 37809] as bahianus, Vieira-Guimarães et al. 2024:46 [ref. 41258]). Current status: Valid as Pareiorhaphis bahiana (Gosline 1947). Loricariidae: Hypoptopomatinae. Distribution: South America: small drainages near Ilhéus, between Pado and Contas River basins, Bahia State (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
