Holotype: FMNH 7582. Paratypes: USNM 78340 (1). Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:53 [ref. 12367], Ferraris & Vari 1992:28 [ref. 19771] with remarks, Ferraris 2007:233 [ref. 29155]. Probable paratypes; original description specifically cited only type but is based on more than one specimen collected at type locality. •Valid as Dasyloricaria capetensis (Meek & Hildebrand 1913) -- (Isbrücker 1980:111 [ref. 2303], Isbrücker 1981:87 [ref. 5522], Burgess 1989:443 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:26, 29 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:15 [ref. 27178], Ferraris in Reis et al. 2003:331 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:233 [ref. 29155]). •Synonym of Dasyloricaria latiura (Eigenmann & Vance 1912) -- (Londoño-Burbano & Reis 2016:[8] [ref. 34381], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:[17] [ref. 35679]). Current status: Synonym of Dasyloricaria latiura (Eigenmann & Vance 1912). Loricariidae: Loricariinae. Distribution: Tuira River basin, Panama (if valid). Habitat: freshwater.
