Holotype (unique): BMNH 1846.8.11.6 (skin). •Synonym of Caranx sexfasciatus Quoy & Gaimard 1825 -- (Paxton et al. 1989:578 [ref. 12442], Hoese & Gates 2006:1157 [ref. 28997], Larson et al. 2013:121 [ref. 32988] as parapistes, Kottelat 2013:333 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Synonym of Caranx sexfasciatus Quoy & Gaimard 1825. Carangidae: Caranginae. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
