Original locality "Ceilona" [= Ceylon, = Sri Lanka] •Valid as Macrognathus pentophthalmos (Gronow 1854) -- (Pethiyagoda et al. 2008:38, 44 [ref. 30097], Britz 2010:307 [ref. 30685], Britz 2010:55 [ref. 30857]). Current status: Valid as Macrognathus pentophthalmos (Gronow 1854). Mastacembelidae. Distribution: Sri Lanka [apparently now extinct]. Habitat: freshwater.
