pfeifferi, Cobitis Bleeker [P.] 1853:298 [Natuurkundig Tijdschrift voor Nederlandsch IndiĆ« v. 4 (no. 2); ref. 12580] Lake Meninju, Sumatra, Indonesia. Lectotype: RMNH 7053. Paralectotypes: (5) RMNH 463 (4). Lectotype selected by Alfred 1961:34 [ref. 20552]. Named for a woman; the name has been emended and in use, so the spelling pfeifferae is appropriate. •Valid as Nemacheilus pfeifferae (Bleeker 1853) -- (Kottelat et al. 1993:55 [ref. 23448], Doi 1997:16 [ref. 22832] as pfeifferi, Hadiaty & Siebert 2001:186 [ref. 25685], Tan & Kottelat 2009:56 [ref. 30261], Kottelat 2012:92 [ref. 32367], Kottelat 2013:201 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Nemacheilus pfeifferae (Bleeker 1853). Nemacheilidae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Sumatra, Indonesia. Habitat: freshwater.
