Current status: Valid as Lepadogaster purpurea (Bonnaterre 1788). Gobiesocidae: Lepadogastrinae. Distribution: Western Mediterranean Sea; eastern Atlantic: British Isles south to Senegal, including Azores, Madeira and Canary Islands. Habitat: marine.
