Neotype designated by Greenfield 1997:311 [ref. 22881]. •Valid as Allenbatrachus reticulatus (Steindachner 1870) -- (Greenfield 1997:309 [ref. 22881], Greenfield 1999:2001 [ref. 24764], Greenfield in Randall & Lim 2000:597 [ref. 25122], Greenfield & Smith 2004:568 [ref. 28163], Greenfield et al. 2008:677 [ref. 30046], Allen & Erdmann 2012:141 [ref. 31980], Kottelat 2013:273 [ref. 32989], Yoshida et al. 2013:53 [ref. 34464], Psomadakis et al. 2020:328 [ref. 37272], Allen & Erdmann 2024:155 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Allenbatrachus reticulatus (Steindachner 1870). Batrachoididae: Halophryninae. Distribution: Northeastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: Myanmar, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia (Sumatra). Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
