Lectotype selected by Boeseman 1947:162 [ref. 12876]. •Synonym of Zacco temmincki (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Okada 1961:504 [ref. 6363]). •Valid as Zacco sieboldii (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Hosoya et al. 2003:1 [ref. 26770], Kim et al. 2005:5 [ref. 28195], Wu et al. 2007:62 [ref. 29953]). •Valid as Candidia sieboldii (Temminck & Schlegel 1846) -- (Tadano 2024:32 [ref. 41282]). •Valid as Nipponocypris sieboldii (Temminck ^ Schlegel 1846) -- (Chen et al. 2008:210 [ref. 29933]). Current status: Valid as Nipponocypris sieboldii (Temminck & Schlegel 1846). Xenocyprididae. Distribution: East Asia: Japan and Korea. Hybridizes with Zacco platypus (Temminck & Schlegel 1846). Habitat: freshwater.
