Spelled twice as scaplyceps in Portuguese portion and twice as scaphyceps in English portion (which we regard as one work). Earliest first reviser located is Fowler 1954:194 [ref. 1465] who selected scaphyceps. •Valid as Hypostomus scaphyceps (Nichols 1919) -- (Isbrücker 1980:33-34 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:432 [ref. 12860], Isbrücker 2001:28, 31 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:19 [ref. 27178], Weber in Reis et al. 2003:362 [ref. 27061], Armbruster 2004:80 [ref. 27644], Ferraris 2007:260 [ref. 29155]). •Synonym of Hypostomus albopunctatus (Regan 1908) -- (Zawadzki et al. 2019:[4] [ref. 37170]).
