Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:235 [ref. 29155]. Original genus is correctly Chaetostoma. Genus Chaetostoma is neuter, therefore correction to setosum. •Valid as Lasiancistrus setosus (Boulenger 1887) -- (Isbrücker 1980:46 [ref. 2303], Burgess 1989:434 [ref. 12860], Knaack 2000:58 [ref. 27233]). •Incertae sedis within the Chaetostoma group -- (Ballen & Vari 2012:503 [ref. 32204], Lujan et al. 2015:667 [ref. 33975]). •Valid as Chaetostoma setosum Boulenger 1887 -- (DoNascimiento et al. 2017:80 [ref. 35633]). •Valid as Dolichancistrus setosus (Boulenger 1887) -- (Isbrücker 2001:26, 27 [ref. 25653], Isbrücker 2002:15 [ref. 27178], Fisch-Muller in Reis et al. 2003:384 [ref. 27061], Ferraris 2007:235 [ref. 29155], Provenzano et al. 2017:262 [ref. 35613]). •Valid as Cordylancistrus setosus (Boulenger 1887) -- (Provenzano 2018:398 [ref. 35789]).
