W.] 1889:294, Pl. 17 (fig. 1) [Journal of the Asiatic Society of Bengal v. 58 (pt 2, no. 3); ref. 85] 7.5 miles east of North Cinque Island, Andaman Islands, Investigator station 10, depth 490 fathoms. Holotype (unique): ZSI F11765. Type catalog: Menon & Yazdani 1968:160 [ref. 20743], Menon & Rama-Rao 1975:46 [ref. 22148]. Originally wood-masoni. Figured in Alcock 1895: Pl. 16 (fig. 4) [ref. 20532]. •Valid as Symphurus woodmasoni (Alcock 1889) -- (Munroe 2001:3895 [ref. 26314], Krabbenhoft & Munroe 2003:816 [ref. 27261], Munroe 2006:230 [ref. 28683], Lee et al. 2009:56 [ref. 30387], Kawai et al. 2020:103 [ref. 37787]). Current status: Valid as Symphurus woodmasoni (Alcock 1889). Cynoglossidae: Symphurinae. Distribution: Northeastern Indian Ocean: Bay of Bengal (India) to Andaman Sea off western Thailand. Habitat: marine.
