UMMZ specimens probably should not be considered types as they were referred with question as, "... are apparently the young of the same species." •Valid as Fugu pseudommus (Chu 1935) -- (Cheng & Zhou 1997:486 [ref. 26385], Wang et al. 2001:339 [ref. 26566]). •Valid as Takifugu pseudommus (Chu 1935) -- (Matsuura in Masuda et al. 1984:363 [ref. 6441], Lindberg et al. 1997:129 [ref. 23547], Nakabo 2000:1425 [ref. 25182], Song et al. 2001:129 [ref. 25468], Nakabo 2002:1425 [ref. 26193], Choi et al. 2003:453, 700 [ref. 26218], Kim et al. 2020:205 [ref. 39118]). •Synonym of Takifugu rubripes (Temminck & Schlegel 1850) -- (Dyldin et al. 2016:136 [ref. 34682], Dyldin & Orlov 2017:203 [ref. 35257]). Current status: Synonym of Takifugu rubripes (Temminck & Schlegel 1850). Tetraodontidae. Habitat: marine.
