lesurianum, Exoglossum Rafinesque [C. S.] 1818:420 [Journal of the Academy of Natural Sciences, Philadelphia v. 1 (pt 2); ref. 3588] Pipe Creek, Maryland, U.S.A. Syntypes: ANSP 1375-76 (2). Type catalog: Gilbert 1998:103 [ref. 23395]. Unneeded replacement name for Cyprinus maxillingua Lesueur 1817 (to avoid Strickland tautonymy), but earlier replaced by Rafinesque as Exoglossum vittatum (see Proc. J. Acad. Nat. Sci. Phila. v. 1:485 for order of publication). Obviously named for Lesueur but spelled Lesurianum, and that spelling can be retained. •Objective synonym of Exoglossum maxillingua (Lesueur 1817) -- (Smith 1986:132 [ref. 22186], Gilbert 1998:103 [ref. 23395], Scott & Crossman 1998:414 [ref. 24570]). Replacement Name. Current status: Synonym of Exoglossum maxillingua (Lesueur 1817). Leuciscidae: Pogonichthyinae. Habitat: freshwater.
