Type catalog: Böhlke 1984:110 [ref. 13621]. •Synonym of Glossogobius giuris (Hamilton 1822) -- (Hoese 1986:790 [ref. 5670], Maugé 1986:369 [ref. 6218], Jouladeh-Roudbar et al. 2020:232 [ref. 37983], Parenti 2021:162 [ref. 38603]). •Valid as Glossogobius tenuiformis Fowler 1934 -- (Al Jufaili et al. 2022:546 [ref. 39237], Esmaeili et al. 2022:484 [ref. 39253], Larson 2022:94 [ref. 39971], Esmaeili & Hamidan 2023:214 [ref. 40377], Zarei et al. 2023:38 [ref. 40477], Çiçek et al. 2024:305 [ref. 40789]). Current status: Valid as Glossogobius tenuiformis Fowler 1934. Gobiidae: Gobiinae. Distribution: Western Indian Ocean: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa); Oman. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
