elongatus, Macroparalepis Ege [V.] 1933:233 [Videnskabelige Meddelelser fra Dansk Naturhistorisk Forening, Kjøbenhavn v. 94; ref. 1186] Southeast of Sri Lanka, 4°28'N, 82°13'E, Dana station 3908, depth about 300 meters (1000 meters wire out). Holotype (unique): ZMUC P2318729. Type catalog: Post 1972:153 [ref. 20860], Nielsen 1974:31 [ref. 9588]. Stemonosudis is feminine, so species should be elongata. •Valid as Stemonosudis elongatus (Ege 1933) -- (Fukui & Ozawa 2004:293 [ref. 28076], Mundy 2005:207 [ref. 28379]). •Valid as Stemonosudis elongata (Ege 1933) -- (Fricke et al. 2018:74 [ref. 35805], Ho & Huang 2022:132 [ref. 39619]). Current status: Valid as Stemonosudis elongata (Ege 1933). Paralepididae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: East Africa and Madagascar east to Hawaiian Islands (U.S.A.) and Marquesas Islands (French Polynesia), north to Philippines, south to Queensland (Australia) and Loyalty Islands (New Caledonia). Habitat: marine.
