Paralectotype MNHN A.2389 is referable to Pangasius hypophthalmus (Sauvage 1878) according to Roberts & Vidthayanon 1991:121 [ref. 19239]. •Valid as Pangasius pleurotaenia Sauvage 1878 -- (Kottelat 1984:813 [ref. 11440], Burgess 1989:106 [ref. 12860] as pleurotaenius, Roberts & Vidthayanon 1991:135 [ref. 19239], Rainboth 1996:156 [ref. 22772], Pouyaud et al. 1999:247 [ref. 24245], Pouyaud & Teugels 2000:198 [ref. 25066], Freyhof et al. 2000:96 [ref. 25184], Kottelat 2001:134 [ref. 25780]). •Valid as Pteropangasius pleurotaenia (Sauivage 1878) -- (Gustiano 2003:69 [ref. 31337]). •Valid as Pseudolais pleurotaenia (Sauvage 1878) -- (Ferraris 2007:328 [ref. 29155], Kottelat 2013:256 [ref. 32989]). Current status: Valid as Pseudolais pleurotaenia (Sauvage 1878). Pangasiidae. Distribution: Mekong, Meklong, Tapi and Chao Phraya River basins, southeastern Asia. Habitat: freshwater.
