Holotype: MCZ 19371[or 19370]. Paratypes: MCZ 19346 (14), 19366 (7, now 5), 32099 (2), 94491 [ex MCZ 19370] (1); USNM 120397 [ex MCZ 19366] (1). Type catalog: Vari & Howe 1991:5 [ref. 19022]. For information on types see Petry et al. 2007:80 [ref. 29175]. •Valid as Laemolyta garmani (Borodin 1931) -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:12 [ref. 9708], Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:73 [ref. 27061], Mautari & Menezes 2006:34 [ref. 28621], Barriga Salazar 2014:105 [ref. 35745], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:39 [ref. 35633], Meza-Vargas et al. 2021:15 [ref. 39298]). Current status: Valid as Laemolyta garmani (Borodin 1931). Anostomidae. Distribution: South America: Amazon River basin (Brazil, Ecuador, Colombia and Peru). Habitat: freshwater.
