Paratypes: AMNH 9259 (4). •Synonym of Ctenopoma muriei (Boulenger 1906), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Gosse 1986:409 [ref. 6194]). •Valid as Microctenopoma ocellifer (Nichols 1928) -- (Norris 1995:358, 372 [ref. 21948], Kullander & Roberts 2012:367 [ref. 31751]). Current status: Valid as Microctenopoma ocellifer (Nichols 1928). Anabantidae. Distribution: Africa. Habitat: freshwater.
