Misspelled tchadensis in literature. Lectotype selected by Geerinckx & Vreven 2013:3007 [ref. 36399]. •Valid as Auchenoglanis tchadiensis Pellegrin 1909 -- (Retzer 2010:38 [ref. 31026]). •Synonym of Auchenoglanis occidentalis (Valenciennes 1840) -- (Risch 1986:7 [ref. 6190], Teugels et al. 1991:511 [ref. 19030], Risch in Lévêque et al. 1992:422 [ref. 21590], Seegers 1996:179 [ref. 23725], Ferraris 2007:154 [ref. 29155], Geerinckx & Vreven 2013:3002 [ref. 36399]). Current status: Synonym of Auchenoglanis occidentalis (Valenciennes 1840). Auchenoglanididae. Habitat: freshwater.
