Lectotype selected by Ng 2025:332 [ref. 42247]. •Valid as Liocassis breviceps Regan 1913 -- (Burgess 1989:70 [ref. 12860], Kottelat et al. 1993:63 [ref. 23448]). •Valid as Pseudomystus breviceps (Regan 1913) -- (Mo 1991:140 [ref. 19952], Ng & Rachmatika 1999:177 [ref. 23964], Ng & Lim 2005:14 [ref. 28081], Ferraris 2007:103 [ref. 29155], Kim & Ng 2008:45 [ref. 29456], Kottelat 2013:265 [ref. 32989], Ng 2025:323 [ref. 42247]). Current status: Valid as Pseudomystus breviceps (Regan 1913). Bagridae. Distribution: Southeast Asia: Deli River drainage, northern Sumatra, Chantaburi River drainage, southeastern Thailand, and river drainages in the Malay Peninsula from the Tapi River drainage southwards to the Endau River drainage. Habitat: freshwater.
