Holotype: BMNH 1930.1.14.7 [ex SAM] (poor condition). Also appeared in Barnard 1927:927, Pl. 33 (fig. 5) [ref. 194]. Neotype was designated by Stein 1978 [ref. 4203], but holotype was subsequently found and described by Adriashev 1991 [ref. 21312]. •Valid as Paraliparis micrurus (Barnard 1927) -- (Stein 1986:493 [ref. 6297], Andriashev 1986:107 [ref. 12760], Paxton et al. 1989:479 [ref. 12442]). •Valid as Psednos micrurus Barnard 1927 -- (Andriashev 1992:4 [ref. 21312], Andriashev 1994:296 [ref. 21902], Andriashev 1998:263 [ref. 23579], Chernova 2001:497 [ref. 25345], Stein et al. 2001 [ref. 25901], Chernova & Stein 2002:759 [ref. 26224], Andriashev 2003:394 [ref. 26955], Chernova et al. 2004:48 [ref. 27592], Stein 2005:20 [ref. 28392]). Current status: Valid as Psednos micrurus Barnard 1927. Liparidae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: off Cape Point (South Africa) and Madagascar Ridge. Habitat: marine.
