Current status: Valid as Pseudorhombus diplospilus Norman 1926. Paralichthyidae. Distribution: Eastern Indian Ocean, western Pacific: east coast of India east to Indonesia, north to South China Sea, south to Western Australia and Queensland (Australia). Habitat: marine.
