Current status: Valid as Bathycongrus varidens (Garman 1899). Congridae: Congrinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: Pacific coast of Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to Chile, including Galapagos Islands (Ecuador). IUCN (2019): Least Concern. Habitat: marine.
