Current status: Valid as Sturisoma rostratum (Spix & Agassiz 1829). Loricariidae: Loricariinae. Distribution: South America: Araguaia, Tocantins and Tapajós River drainages, lower Amazon basin (Brazil). Habitat: freshwater.
