argyrosoma, Haplochromis Regan [C. T.] 1922:713, Fig. 25 [Proceedings of the Zoological Society of London 1921 (pt 4) (no. 36); ref. 3673] Lake Malawi [Lake Nyasa], southeastern Africa. Holotype (unique): BMNH 1908.10.27.99. Holotype is also a paralectotype of Tilapia macrophthalma. •Valid as Otopharynx argyrosoma (Regan 1922) -- (Eccles & Trewavas 1989:167 [ref. 13547], Maréchal 1991:347 [ref. 20944], Snoeks & Hanssens 2004:289 [ref. 28117], Konings 2016:328 [ref. 34521], Oliver 2018:195 [ref. 36257]). Current status: Valid as Otopharynx argyrosoma (Regan 1922). Cichlidae: Pseudocrenilabrinae. Distribution: Eastern Africa: Lake Malawi. Habitat: freshwater.
