Syntypes: (4) NMW 44470 (1). Type catalog: Ferraris 2007:418 [ref. 29155]. Species originally spelled fassli in above abstract, spelling changed to fasslii when later illustrated and described in more detail in Steindachner 1915:97 [p. 83 of separate], Pl. 13 (figs. 1-2) [ref. 4244]; also in Steindachner 1917 [ref. 15259]. •Valid as Trichomycterus fassli (Steindachner 1915) -- (Burgess 1989:322 [ref. 12860], Fernández 2000:32 [ref. 26195], de Pinna & Wosiacki in Reis et al. 2003:281 [ref. 27061], Fernández 2005:123 [ref. 29374], Fernández & Chuquihuamaní 2007:55 [ref. 29320], Ferraris 2007:418 [ref. 29155], Sarmiento et al. 2014:193 [ref. 35004]). Current status: Valid as Trichomycterus fassli (Steindachner 1915). Trichomycteridae: Trichomycterinae. Distribution: Songo River basin, western Amazon basin, Bolivia. Habitat: freshwater.
