Objectively invalid; preoccupied by Mugil breviceps Valenciennes 1836, replaced by Mugil parviceps Waite 1804. •Synonym of Myxus petardi (Castelnau 1875) -- (Thomson 1997:476 [ref. 23428], Harrison & Senou 1999:2098 [ref. 24780]). •Synonym of Trachystoma petardi (Castelnau 1875) -- (Hoese & Bray 2006:683 [ref. 29000]). 1°Homonym.
