Additional material: (1). •Synonym of Alosa fallax (Lacepède 1803) -- (Svetovidov 1973:108 [ref. 7169], Whitehead 1985:199 [ref. 5141]). •Synonym of Alosa fallax (Lacepède 1803), but a valid subspecies -- (Kartas 1991:213 [ref. 24841]). •Questionably valid as Alosa algeriensis Regan 1916 -- (Kottelat 1997:37 [ref. 22952]). •Synonym of Alosa agone (Scopoli 1786) -- (Bianco 2002:62 [ref. 26726]). •Valid as Alosa algeriensis Regan 1916 -- (Kottelat & Freyhof 2007:66 [ref. 29996], Lorenzoni et al. 2019:251 [ref. 37108] with question, Baikeche et al. 2021:959 [ref. 39080]). Current status: Valid as Alosa algeriensis Regan 1916. Alosidae. Distribution: Mediterranean Sea and adjacent watersheds. Habitat: freshwater, brackish, marine.
