F.] 1916:409, Pl. 2 (fig. 1) [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 50 (no. 2133); ref. 4391] Just south of Rio de La Plata, Uruguay, Albatross station 2766, 36°47'00"N, 56°23'00"W, depth 10-11 fathoms. Holotype (unique): USNM 76851. •Synonym of Agonopsis chiloensis (Jenyns 1840) -- (Kanayama 1991:66 [ref. 19261], Sheiko 1993:68 [ref. 21227]). •Valid as Agonopsis asperoculis Thompson 1916 -- (Sheiko & Mecklenburg 2004:9 [ref. 27591]). Current status: Valid as Agonopsis asperoculis Thompson 1916. Agonidae: Agoninae. Distribution: Western South Atlantic: coasts of Argentina and Falkland Islands. Habitat: marine.
