M.] & Radcliffe [L.] in Radcliffe 1912:214, Pls. 25 (fig. 1), 26 (fig. 3), 27 (fig. 3) [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 42 (no. 1896); ref. 3577] Near Binang Unang Island, Gulf of Tomini, 0°04'00"S, 121°36'00"E, Sulawesi, Albatross station 5607, depth 761 fathoms. Holotype (unique): USNM 144223 (poor condition). •Valid but may belong in Dibranchus -- (Bradbury 1967:411 [ref. 23209]). •Valid as Coelophrys oblonga Smith & Radcliffe 1912 -- (Bradbury 2003:2 [ref. 27309]). •Valid as Halieutopsis oblonga (Smith & Radcliffe 1912) -- (Ho 2021:44 [ref. 38926]). Current status: Valid as Halieutopsis oblonga (Smith & Radcliffe 1912). Ogcocephalidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: off Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Habitat: marine.
