Holotype (unique): USNM 144223 (poor condition). •Valid but may belong in Dibranchus -- (Bradbury 1967:411 [ref. 23209]). •Valid as Coelophrys oblonga Smith & Radcliffe 1912 -- (Bradbury 2003:2 [ref. 27309]). •Valid as Halieutopsis oblonga (Smith & Radcliffe 1912) -- (Ho 2021:44 [ref. 38926]). Current status: Valid as Halieutopsis oblonga (Smith & Radcliffe 1912). Ogcocephalidae. Distribution: Western Pacific: off Japan, Taiwan, Indonesia, the Philippines, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. Habitat: marine.
