klunzingeri, Pardachirus Weber [M.] 1907:250, Pl. 13 (fig. 2) [Süsswasserfische von Neu-Guinea v. 5 (Zool.) pt 2; ref. 4599] Mouth of the Merauke River, Papua, Indonesia; Port Darwin; plus one more. Syntypes: (3) SMNS 2521 (1) Port Darwin, ZMA 109407 (1). Weber specimens: BMNH 1913.12.15.38-39 (2), MNHN 1859-592 (2). Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:108 [ref. 19236], Fricke 1995:19 [ref. 28100] with a syntype at SMNS but dates to Weber 1917, Fricke 2005:59 [ref. 29864]. Based on 3 specimens; the syntype that is described and figured (ZMA 109407) would make the best lectotype; it is from Papua. Randall 2007:96 [ref. 29914] treats a holotype that is lost. •Valid as Aseraggodes klunzingeri (Weber 1907) -- (Roberts 1978:69 [ref. 8886], Larson & Martin 1990:76 [ref. 16606], Allen 1991:206 [ref. 21090], Allen et al. 2000:154 [ref. 27467], Hutchins 2001:47 [ref. 25847], Munroe 2001:3881 [ref. 26314] as Bleeker 1851, Allen et al. 2002:324 [ref. 25930], Hoese & Bray 2006:1843 [ref. 29000]). •Valid as Leptachirus klunzingeri (Weber 1907) -- (Randall 2007:96 [ref. 29914], Morgan et al. 2011:20 [ref. 31262]). Current status: Valid as Leptachirus klunzingeri (Weber 1907). Soleidae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific and southeastern Indian Ocean. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
