Type catalog: Nijssen et al. 1982:108 [ref. 19236], Fricke 1995:19 [ref. 28100] with a syntype at SMNS but dates to Weber 1917, Fricke 2005:59 [ref. 29864]. Based on 3 specimens; the syntype that is described and figured (ZMA 109407) would make the best lectotype; it is from Papua. Current status: Valid as Leptachirus klunzingeri (Weber 1907). Soleidae. Distribution: Southwestern Pacific and southeastern Indian Ocean. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
