O.] 1901:7, Pl. 5 [Proceedings of the United States National Museum v. 24 (no. 1241); ref. 2510] Ishigaki Island, Yaeyama Islands, southern Ryukyu Islands, Japan. Holotype: CAS-SU 6519. Paratypes: CAS-SU 6736 (11), USNM 49835 (4). Type catalog: Böhlke 1953:60 [ref. 12291]. Spelled ishigakius by Snyder 1912. Original genus should have been Corythoichthys. •Synonym of Corythoichthys haematopterus (Bleeker 1851) -- (Dawson 1977:328 [ref. 7048], Dawson 1985:40 [ref. 6541]). •Valid as Corythoichthys isigakius Jordan & Schneider 1901 -- (Allen & Erdmann 2008:122 [ref. 29478], Kuiter 2009:193 [ref. 30404]). Current status: Valid as Corythoichthys isigakius Jordan & Snyder 1901. Syngnathidae: Syngnathinae. Distribution: Western Pacific: Japan. Habitat: marine.
