Current status: Valid as Pareques iwamotoi Miller & Woods 1988. Sciaenidae. Distribution: Western Atlantic: North Carolina (U.S.A.) south to southern Brazil, including Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean Sea. Habitat: marine.
