Apparently predates Leiocassis longirostris Günther 1864, Kottelat 2013:267 [ref. 32989], see also Rendahl 1927 [ref. 26321] and Lee & Kim 1990:133 [ref. 24033]. •Synonym of Leiocassis longirostris Günther 1864 -- (Lee & Kim 1990:133 [ref. 24033], Kim 1997:565 [ref. 24032], Ferraris 2007:93 [ref. 29155]). •Valid as Tachysurus dumerili (Bleeker 1864) -- (Kottelat 2013:267 [ref. 32989], Grant 2020:26 [ref. 37638], Cheng et al. 2021:313 [ref. 38402], Shao & Zhang 2022:8 [ref. 39199]). Current status: Valid as Tachysurus dumerili (Bleeker 1864). Bagridae. Distribution: East Asia: Yangtze River basin, China. Habitat: freshwater.
