Type catalog: Springer et al. 1991:3 [ref. 18888]. •Valid as Meiacanthus abditus Smith-Vaniz 1987 -- (Smith-Vaniz et al. 2001:33 [ref. 26213], Springer 2001:3545 [ref. 26290], Allen & Adrim 2003:54 [ref. 26830], Patzner et al. 2009:456 [ref. 30396], Smith-Vaniz & Allen 2011:51 [ref. 31543] and also cf albitus, Allen & Erdmann 2012:788 [ref. 31980], Allen et al. 2024:1315, 1318 [ref. 40796]). Current status: Valid as Meiacanthus abditus Smith-Vaniz 1987. Blenniidae: Blenniinae. Distribution: Indo-West Pacific: Malaysia, Indonesia and Philippines. Habitat: marine.
