Holotype (unique): MCZ 6089. Correct spelling of original genus is Pomacentrus. •Valid as Pomacentrus pikei Bliss 1883 -- (Allen 1991:250 [ref. 19344], Fricke 1999:384 [ref. 24106], Allen & Wright 2003:136 [ref. 27247], Heemstra et al. 2004:3324 [ref. 27945], Fricke et al. 2009:81 [ref. 30213], Parenti 2021:77 [ref. 38418], Allen 2022:158 [ref. 39911]). Current status: Valid as Pomacentrus pikei Bliss 1883. Pomacentridae: Pomacentrinae. Distribution: Southwestern Indian Ocean: Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius, Rodrigues) endemic. Habitat: marine.
