Holotype: ZFMK 13413. Paratypes: ZFMK 13414 (1). Type catalog: Herder et al. 2010:125 [ref. 31087]. Combined with a feminine genus, the adjective should be rubrocaudata. •Valid as Pterolebias rubrocaudatus Seegers 1984 -- (Ortega & Vari 1986:19 [ref. 9708]). •Valid as Aphyolebias rubrocaudatus (Seegers 1984) -- (Costa 1998:78 [ref. 23792], Lazara 2001:5 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:526 [ref. 27061], Costa 2003:156 [ref. 27616]). •Valid as Moema rubrocaudata (Seegers 1984) -- (Valdesalici et al. 2015:129 [ref. 33902] as rubrocaudatus, Valdesalici 2016:70 [ref. 34174] as rubrocaudatus). Current status: Valid as Moema rubrocaudata (Seegers 1984). Rivulidae: Rivulinae. Distribution: Madre de Dios River basin, Amazon River basin, Peru. Habitat: freshwater, brackish.
