Paratypes: AMS IB.784 (1 or ?). The original descriptin llists 41 specimens (20 of which measured and counted). •Synonym of Craterocephalus stercusmuscarum (Günther 1867), but a valid subspecies as described -- (Crowley & Ivantsoff 1992:277 [ref. 20015], Ivantsoff & Crowley in McDowall 1996:131 [ref. 22909], Hammer & Walker 2004:88 [ref. 28129], Ivantsoff & Allen 2011:54 [ref. 31135], Hammer et al. 2012:64 [ref. 32389]). •Valid as Craterocephalus fulvus Ivantsoff, Crowley & Allen 1987 -- (Paxton et al. 2006:707 [ref. 28995], Kuiter 2018:27 [ref. 36369]). Current status: Valid as Craterocephalus fulvus Ivantsoff, Crowley & Allen 1987. Atherinidae: Craterocephalinae. Distribution: Southern Australia: Murray Darling River system of South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales. Habitat: freshwater.
