pati, Pimelodus Valenciennes [A.] 1835:Pl. 1 (figs. 7-9) [Voyage dans l'Amérique méridionale; ref. 20720] Buenos Aires, Argentina. Holotype: ?MNHN A-9419 (1, dry). Non-types: MNHN A-9418 (1, dry). Type catalog: Bertin & Estève 1950:59 [ref. 19575] as syntypes; technically the figured specimen is the unique holotype, Ferraris 2007:334 [ref. 29155]. Name available from plate, description in Valenciennes 1847:7 [ref. 5010]. Pl. 1 was published in 1835.
