Holotype: WAM P.28071-009. Paratypes: AMS I.22808-008 (1), I.22821-050 (1), I.23425-010 (1); CSIRO CA 4235 (1); WAM P.28071-026 (2), P.28086-007 (1). Type catalog: Hutchins & Smith 1991:35 [ref. 19335], Moore et al. 2008:39 [ref. 30117]. •Valid as Gnathagnus cribratus Kishimoto 1989 -- (Hutchins 2001:40 [ref. 25847]). •Valid as Xenocephalus cribratus (Kishimoto 1989) -- (Kishimoto 2001:3530 [ref. 26287], Bray & Hoese 2006:1515 [ref. 29049], Larson et al. 2013:177 [ref. 32988], Vilasri 2013:91 [ref. 33304]). Current status: Valid as Xenocephalus cribratus (Kishimoto 1989). Uranoscopidae. Distribution: Northwestern Australia. Habitat: marine.
