R.] 1987:31, Fig. 1 [Memoirs of the Museum of Victoria v. 48 (no. 1); ref. 17670] Bass Strait, southeast of Cape Conran, Victoria, Australia, 37°55.27'-55.43'S, 149°10.32'-15.05'S, depth 114-119 meters. Holotype: NMV A1594. Paratypes: AMS E.3354 (1), I.21304-001 (2); CSIRO H 654-01 (1), H 655-01 (1); NMV A217 (1), A1222 (1), A1400 (1), A1401 (1), A1550 (1), A1563 (2), A2153 (2), A2166 (2). •Valid as Kathetostoma canaster Gomon & Last 1987 -- (Gomon et al. 1994:721 [ref. 22532], Hutchins 2001:40 [ref. 25847], Bray & Hoese 2006:1511 [ref. 29049], Gomon 2008:680 [ref. 30614], Gomon & Roberts 2011:11 [ref. 31180], Vilasri 2013:89 [ref. 33304]). Current status: Valid as Kathetostoma canaster Gomon & Last 1987. Uranoscopidae. Distribution: Australia: New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania and to western South Australia. Habitat: marine.
