Paratypes: LACM 21705 (1). •Valid as Phaenomonas pinnata Myers & Wade 1941 -- (McCosker 1977:73 [ref. 6836], McCosker et al. 1989:352 [ref. 13288], McCosker & Rosenblatt in Fischer et al. 1995:1339 [ref. 22830], Grove & Lavenberg 1997:171 [ref. 24023], Nelson et al. 2004:63 [ref. 27807], Love et al. 2005:20 [ref. 37547], Randall 2007:69 [ref. 30952], McCosker & Rosenblatt 2010:188 [ref. 30957], Page et al. 2013:64 [ref. 32708], Love et al. 2021:36 [ref. 39279], Page et al. 2023:55 [ref. 40505]). Current status: Valid as Phaenomonas pinnata Myers & Wade 1941. Ophichthidae: Ophichthinae. Distribution: Eastern Pacific: southern tip of Baja California Sur (Mexico) south to Colombia, including Gulf of California (Mexico) and Galápagos Islands (Ecuador). Habitat: marine.
