Distribution: Red Sea; Indo-West Pacific: KwaZulu-Natal (South Africa), East Africa, Madagascar and western Mascarenes (La Réunion, Mauritius) east to Mariana Islands and Marquesas Islands, south to Western Australia, Queensland (Australia) and New Caledonia. Habitat: brackish, marine.
