National Museum No. 2; ref. 1848] Off north-eastern U.S.A., 39°57'N, 69°28'W, Fish Hawk station 1035, depth 120 fathoms. Lectotype: USNM 28938. Paralectotypes: USNM 278183 [ex USNM 28398] (1). Additional non-type material: USNM 30233 (1), 31711 (3). Type catalog: Smith 1994:35 [ref. 21917]. Lectotype established in Jordan & Evermann 1900:3245 in caption to figure.
