Neotype: FMNH 85267. Type catalog: Ibarra & Stewart 1987:72 [ref. 12367], Provenzano et al. 1998:19 [ref. 24196]. Neotype designated by Taphorn & Thomerson 1978:395 [ref. 4337]; Provenzano et al. 1998:19 [ref. 24196] indicate Weibezahn material is at MBUCV. See Taphorn & Thomerson 1978:395 [ref. 4337] for suggested authorship as Weibezahn, but the correct author is Radda [Weibezahn's manuscript not published]. •Valid as Rachovia maculipinnis (Radda 1964) -- (Taphorn & Thomerson 1978:394 [ref. 4337], Parenti 1981:486 [ref. 7066], Costa 1998:80 [ref. 23792], Lazara 2001:265 [ref. 25711], Costa in Reis et al. 2003:533 [ref. 27061], DoNascimiento et al. 2017:101 [ref. 35633], Loureiro et al. 2018:3 [ref. 36240], Urbano-Bonilla et al. 2018:73 [ref. 35773]).
