Paratypes: MZUSP: 14437-41 (1, 15, 6, 12, 5). Type catalog: Oyakawa 1996:473-474 [ref. 23140]. Dates to 1981 as above with a brief diagnosis. Also appeared Garavello 1990:165, figs. 2 and 4 [ref. 14314]. Types from ref. 14314 assumed to apply to ref. 19202. •Valid as Leporinus gomesi Garavello 1981 -- (Garavello & Britski in Reis et al. 2003:75 [ref. 27061] dated 1990, Britski & Birindella 2013:25 [ref. 32699]). Current status: Valid as Leporinus gomesi Garavello & Santos 1981. Anostomidae. Distribution: Aripuanã River basin, Brazil. Habitat: freshwater.
